Fans around the world are eagerly waiting for more details about the Michael Global Fan Celebration scheduled to take place in Berlin, Germany on April 10. Unfortunately, as of now, very little official information has been released about the event.
If you are planning to travel to Berlin for the celebration but are still waiting for an agenda or details about the activities planned by The Estate of Michael Jackson, Universal Pictures, and Sony Music, you are certainly not alone. Fans across the globe are in the same position, hoping for clarity before making travel plans.
Ticket Competitions Begin
Despite the lack of official information about the program, radio stations around the world have already started running competitions offering fans the chance to attend what appears to be the premiere of the upcoming Michael film in Berlin on April 10 and 11.
These competitions provide very few additional details. Most only mention access to the red carpet and unspecified “activities” surrounding the premiere.
One of the first stations to launch such a contest is NRJ in France. The station, which played a major role in promoting Michael Jackson’s albums during his lifetime, is once again involved in a promotional campaign connected to the new film. However, this time the competition is run through the app of one of the station’s DJs.
Another contest has been launched by Austrian public radio station ORF Radio Oberösterreich. Like the French competition, the prize includes tickets for two to the premiere, along with transport and accommodation in Berlin.

A Limited Event?
The growing number of radio competitions worldwide may give a clue about how the event will be organized.
With international stations distributing tickets through contests, it increasingly appears that the Michael Global Fan Celebration may not be fully open to the public. Instead, it seems likely that a pre-selected guest list will form the majority of attendees, with a few hundred tickets allocated to radio partners across different countries.
If that is the case, the number of tickets available directly to fans could be extremely limited or possibly not available at all.
Waiting for Official Confirmation
We have reached out to Universal Pictures Germany, which originally shared the announcement about the event, as well as The Estate of Michael Jackson, but have not received a response so far.
Until more details are revealed, fans hoping to attend may want to keep an eye on radio promotions in their own countries.
Our Advice for Fans
If attending the event in Berlin is a priority, your best chance right now may be to enter as many radio competitions as possible if they become available in your region.
With travel, accommodation, and premiere tickets included in some of the prizes, these contests might currently be the most realistic way for fans to gain access to the celebration.
For now, all we can do is wait for more information from the organizers.
Good luck!
Thanks to Billie KC and “Denkmal 4 Michael Jackson” – Mistelbach / Austria for the information.
