The city of Gary, Indiana, is preparing for a monumental celebration this summer as Mayor Eddie Melton presents the 2300 Jackson Street Block Party, a two-day tribute honoring the Jackson family legacy. The event will take place on August 29 and 30, 2025, at Roosevelt High School, just blocks away from the Jackson family home at 2300 Jackson Street, as announced in July!
Adding star power to the festivities, the block party will be hosted by none other than Chris Tucker, celebrated comedian, actor, and a close friend of Michael Jackson. Known for his infectious energy and memorable appearances alongside Michael in iconic moments, Tucker will serve as the master of ceremonies, bringing laughter, warmth, and heartfelt tributes to the King of Pop and his family.

In addition to Chris Tucker and the guest DJs, the block party will feature appearances from original Jackson 5 members Jackie and Marlon Jackson, who are scheduled to return to their hometown for this heartfelt tribute. The weekend will also honor Tito Jackson, who passed away earlier this year, with a special posthumous tribute.
The musical lineup will be further elevated by performances from Grammy Award-winning artist Deniece Williams, hometown hip-hop star Freddie Gibbs, and renowned DJ and producer Kid Capri.
