This Halloween, Hamburg will come alive, or rather, undead, for an unforgettable tribute to Michael Jackson’s legendary “Thriller.” On October 31, 2025, the Wandelhalle at Hamburg Central Station will transform into a thrilling stage where fans will get the chance to become part of the King of Pop’s most iconic performance.
A Fan Club’s Biggest Event Yet
The event is being organized by Malibu, one of the oldest Michael Jackson fan clubs in the German-speaking world. Known for its dedication to keeping Michael’s spirit and music alive, Malibu promises to deliver its most spectacular project to date.
In collaboration with the Ahrensburg Musical School (MSA), around 150 performers from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland will unite to recreate the chilling and unforgettable “Thriller” choreography, bringing the music video to life in the heart of Hamburg.
Calling All Zombies
This is no ordinary tribute. Malibu and MSA are looking for zombie performers to join the show. The best part? No professional dance experience is required.
Participants just need to be:

According to Jacqueline C. Wendt, artistic director of MSA and coach of the performance, “It’s not about perfect choreography, but about delivering the energy and passion of Thriller—and having a great time.”

How to Join the Undead
Here’s how fans can take part in this unique experience:

Send a short motivational letter along with a photo to the casting team

Selected applicants will be invited to an in-person zombie casting in Hamburg, where they’ll show off their best undead moves
Those chosen will then prepare for the big day with the help of virtual rehearsals led by professional coaches.
The Big Halloween Show
On October 31, 2025, starting at 12:00 PM, the Wandelhalle will be filled with the sound of Vincent Price’s haunting laugh, the echo of iconic beats, and the sight of more than a hundred zombies dancing in unison.
This isn’t just a performance, it’s a celebration of Michael Jackson’s artistry, a tribute to his influence, and a chance for fans to unite in one of the most memorable settings possible.
