New Jackson Brothers Documentary to Feature Tito’s Final Interview

A new documentary about Jackie, Jermaine, Tito and Marlon Jackson is in the works, offering the four brothers an opportunity to tell their story as members of the Jackson 5 and reflect on their lives, careers and family history.

Announced on October 12, 2026, the untitled project is being produced by Workerbee, part of Banijay UK, in collaboration with Paper Route Studios. Mediawan Rights will handle international distribution and present the documentary to potential buyers at MIPCOM, the international television and content market taking place in Cannes, France.

The documentary has been three years in the making and will be available in two formats: a 90-minute feature-length film or a three-part documentary series. Although a global release is planned, no official premiere date, broadcaster or streaming platform has been announced.

Directed by Benjamin Hirsch, who previously worked on a documentary about Janet Jackson, the production follows the brothers’ journey from their beginnings in Gary, Indiana, to international success with the Jackson 5 and their subsequent experiences in the music industry.

The documentary will feature exclusive access to Jackie, Jermaine, Tito and Marlon, alongside rare archive footage, previously unseen material and personal recollections. It will explore their childhood, their early musical training under their father, Joe Jackson, and the influence of their mother, Katherine Jackson, as the family moved towards international stardom.

The brothers will also share their individual memories of growing up together, including the pressures of rehearsals, competition within the family and the experiences that shaped their careers. The production will look at the group’s triumphs, internal tensions and reunions, as well as how the surviving brothers continue to perform and carry on the family’s musical legacy.

One particularly significant element is the inclusion of Tito Jackson’s final interview, recorded before his death in September 2024 at the age of 70. His contribution will allow audiences to hear his perspective on the family’s history alongside those of his three surviving brothers.

Rick Murray, CEO of Workerbee Group, said the project would offer an insight into the story of the four remaining members of the original band, from their early beginnings to global success and their lives today. He also expressed gratitude to the brothers for trusting the production team with their story.

Corey Russell, co-founder of Paper Route Studios, is also involved in bringing the project to the screen. Banijay Entertainment has supported its early development through its Creative Fund.

The production team includes Dorothea Sterian as producer, Simon Stanley as film editor, Sam Newman-Butler as archive producer and Sophie White as production manager. Yessica De Brouwer is associate producer, while Rick Murray and Marc Pos serve as executive producers.

For now, the documentary remains without an announced title or public release date. Its presentation at MIPCOM is intended to introduce the project to international buyers and help secure distribution for audiences around the world.

More details about where and when fans will be able to watch the documentary are expected once distribution arrangements have been confirmed.
