Craig David goes to watch MJ The Musical

West End’s MJ The Musical at the Prince Edward Theatre has become a pilgrimage for fans of the King of Pop… and now, R&B and UK garage legend Craig David is slated to make the trip. The news of Craig David attending brings together two artists connected by admiration, influence, and respect.

For those who do not know who he is, Craig David first emerged on the music scene in the late 1990s and early 2000s as a key figure in UK garage and R&B. His debut album Born To Do It shot him into the spotlight with a string of hits like Fill Me In, 7 Days and Rewind (with Artful Dodger). Over the years, he’s built a career known for smooth vocals, soulful songwriting, and a blend of pop, garage and R&B sensibilities.

David has also been open about cultural challenges, personal growth, and how early influences shaped his sound. He’s repeatedly expressed how much Michael Jackson meant to him, not just as a superstar in a different genre, but as someone whose music, performance, and legacy left a real mark on his own ambitions.

In 2012 for the Michael Forever Tribute Concert, Craig said: “He inspired me growing up and millions of other people … I can only reminisce over the great music that he made because otherwise you just dwell on the fact that he’s passed away.”

Seems that Craig David enjoyed the show and took the time to talk to the cast.
