Official Michael Jackson Keepsake Trading Cards

Since the Panini Trading Cards (2011), the Estate is back with a new set and a new company, but still pricy, and not sure fans want Michael’s belongings cut up to be sold randomly in a card as we saw with the fan projects of same sort of concept.

Keepsake Trading Cards has announced the upcoming release of the first premium collection of Michael Jackson trading cards in over a decade, officially licensed by Triumph International, the company managing the Michael Jackson Estate’s merchandising and licensing rights.

The new collection “Michael Jackson Bad World Tour Keepsake Premiere Edition” is set to launch on December 15, 2025, celebrating the Bad Tour. This exclusive line promises a variety of card designs, with 300 unique cards, variants, and an ultra-rare “chase” autograph card. Each box will include 16 packs of 4 standard cards and 2 special inserts.

What’s grabbing fans’ attention (and stirring debate) are the so-called “relic” cards, which reportedly contain authentic pieces of gloves worn by Michael Jackson during the Bad World Tour. Keepsake claims these glove fragments were purchased at auction and are now being embedded into trading cards for collectors.

Adding to the exclusivity, one randomly inserted card across the entire production will feature an original Michael Jackson autograph, also acquired at auction, making it one of the rarest cards ever released under an official Michael Jackson license.

While the product promises “premium craftsmanship” and a nostalgic tribute to a historic era, many fans are already expressing discomfort online at the idea of cutting up items once owned or worn by Michael. The same controversy surrounded past collectibles where pieces of clothing or stage-worn items were used for memorabilia.

As one fan commented, “We love the art and the nostalgia, but destroying Michael’s legacy pieces for profit feels wrong.”

The Estate has not publicly commented on the ethical aspect of the relic cards, though it continues to license projects that blend memorabilia and modern collectibles.

Whether this new Keepsake collaboration becomes a must-have for collectors or another polarizing release remains to be seen. One thing’s certain, Michael Jackson’s image and legacy continue to inspire products that blur the line between art, commerce, and fandom.
