Announced live during the Michael Jackson Birthday Celebration in Las Vegas by estate representative Karen Langford, it was revealed that the Michael Jackson biopic officially concluded filming on August 29.
Marking the end of production, the cast and crew released a video message wishing Michael Jackson a happy birthday.
Interestingly, this is the second time the end of filming has been announced, as a first wrap was initially reported in May 2024.
Other crew members, such as makeup artist Bill Corso, also celebrated the wrap by posting a picture of a fedora and glitter glove surrounded by champagne glasses, along with the following statement:
“It’s a wrap… Three years ago, I met with Academy Award–winning filmmaker and producer Graham King to consult on a project he was about to begin—one that presented a considerable number of makeup challenges and required a unique approach. After that meeting, I not only joined the film but also embarked on a filmmaking journey that became one of the greatest and most fulfilling experiences of my life, both professionally and personally. Today, we wrapped principal photography on the birthday of our subject. Suffice it to say, the cast, crew, and all the artists who blessed my department and the film with their talents know how special this project was and how much love was put into it. I can’t wait to see it all come together, but more importantly, I can’t wait to see how the rest of the world reacts. April 24, 2026.”
The movie is now officially in post-production, but rumor has it that the first trailer may be released this October to coincide with Halloween, featuring a “Thriller”-inspired theme. Again, this is only speculation.
