This autumn, Michael Jackson fans will experience something truly extraordinary. When Kingvention, the world’s only Michael Jackson fan convention, arrives in New York City on October 25, 2025, it will bring with it a unique chance for fans to step directly into Michael’s world, through the lens of his very own photographer, Steven Paul Whitsitt.
Whitsitt, who served as Michael Jackson’s personal photographer between 1994 and 1996, was the man behind some of the most iconic images of the HIStory era. From the You Are Not Alone single artwork to the tender shots with Lisa Marie Presley, Whitsitt’s photography defined the visual identity of Michael in the mid-90s. Hand-selected by Michael himself, Whitsitt had an eye for storytelling and authenticity, capturing the King of Pop at both his most innovative and his most intimate.
At Kingvention New York, fans will have the rare chance to be photographed by Whitsitt himself. And this isn’t just any photo opportunity, it’s designed to echo HIStory. The session will recreate the backdrop from Michael and Lisa Marie Presley’s 1994 unveiling as a couple, offering fans a chance to step into an instantly recognizable moment in pop culture.
For just $40 (plus booking fee), attendees will enjoy a personal mini-session lasting 3–5 minutes, with one to three professional portraits captured by Whitsitt. Digital files will then be delivered after the event, leaving fans with a lasting, high-quality memento that goes far beyond the usual convention snapshot.
This exclusive opportunity takes place in Studio 6 at The Hit Factory, running from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on the day of the event. Spaces are limited, making this a true once-in-a-lifetime experience for those lucky enough to secure a spot.
Kingvention has always been about celebrating Michael Jackson through the people who helped shape his artistry, dancers, choreographers, designers, and creatives who worked with him firsthand. With Whitsitt’s involvement, fans aren’t just hearing the stories behind the photographs, they’re becoming part of the story themselves.
For any fan who has ever dreamed of being seen through the same lens as Michael Jackson, this is the moment. As Kingvention makes its U.S. debut in New York City, Steven Paul Whitsitt’s photo session will undoubtedly be one of the most talked-about highlights of the event.
