The creation of sand sculptures for the 26th Zhoushan International Sand Sculpture Festival began on March 27 at the Nansha scenic area on Zhujiajian Island in Zhoushan, East China’s Zhejiang province, promising a unique blend of art and music.
Over 30 of the nation’s top sand sculptors have gathered to craft a spectacular display over 25 days.
This year’s festival will showcase more than 50 music-themed sculptures and interactive performances, creating a vibrant sand art array that both looks and sounds amazing. One of the highlights is a special tribute sculpture dedicated to Michael Jackson, adding a touch of pop legend to the event.
The sculptures will revolve around the themes of “World Classics” and “Pop Culture,” with a giant guitar-shaped layout visible from above, complemented by a light show for a magical day-to-night experience.
Thanks to Keen Zhang for providing pictures of these incredible creations.
The festival is set to kick off on May 17, featuring a music concert and various cultural activities, promising a grand celebration of music and sand art.
