Thriller turns 35 today!

November 30, 2017 • By

On November 30,1982, what would become the biggest album of all the time was officially released!

Selling more than 100 million copies worldwide, Thriller won a record-breaking eight Grammy Awards and changed the course of not only Michael Jackson’s career, but the way in which many other artists approached releasing and promoting a record.

It’s interesting to note, that Thriller’s success was not as instant as may be believed. The first single was ‘The Girl is Mine’, a strategic move to not only align Michael with a Beatle, but also a white, rock artist with a global reputation. Not that Michael needed the musical or personal boost (his success with Off the Wall spoke for itself), but the idea was to create a truly remarkable cross-over record that could appeal to a wider audience. Michael would receive airplay on the Soul, Blues and RnB stations for being Michael Jackson with the added benefit of now featuring on the Rock and Pop stations due to his collaboration with Paul McCartney. read more

Michael Jackson’s Halloween: The Review

November 6, 2017 • By

By now, many fans have watched “Michael Jackson’s Halloween”, the animated cartoon from CBS in conjunction with the Michael Jackson Estate.

The Story is simple. Two main characters go on a quest to save music and dance against an evil witch. Our lead male is Vincent (Lucas Till, MacGyver), the son of a grocery store owner, deemed to one day take over the business but really aspiring to be a DJ. The leading lady is Victoria (Kiersey Clemons, Neighbors 2), an intern for a corporation literally trying to get a job as an assistant while suppressing her passion for dance. Our hero and heroine cross paths thanks to a bike-chasing-dog-collision and end up at 777 Jackson Street (All fans will know the meaning of that number and that street) where they meet a mixture of characters (including Bubbles) while figuring out how to stop Conformity (the witch). read more

Heidi Klum’s Halloween Costume Is an Homage to Michael Jackson

November 2, 2017 • By

Heidi Klum, dressed as a werewolf for Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music video, attends her 18th Annual Halloween Party at Moxy Times Square on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, in New York.

No one does Halloween quite like Heidi Klum. For the past 18 years, the model has celebrated the holiday with her annual party, arriving in a costume more elaborate than the last. Some of her more recent choices include the 95-year-old version of herself, Jessica Rabbit, and Heidi Klum . . . accompanied by five Heidi Klum clones. This year she told Vanity Fair that her costume involved choreography, and now we know why: Klum arrived as Michael Jackson in his 1982 music video “Thriller” after he turns into a werewolf, accompanied by a posse of zombies. read more
