“Scream” hits the Charts

Michael Jackson SCREAM, a collection of 13 of his all-time most electrifying and danceable tracks including Thriller, Dangerous, Blood On The Dance, Floor, Ghosts, Torture, and Dirty Diana, debuted on the album charts at #3 on Current and Overall Pop and #3 on Current and Overall R&B and #8 and #10 for Physical and Overall Album sales, respectively. It also debuted in the top 10 landing at #9 in the UK.

SCREAM is the essential playlist for the Michael Jackson takeover of Halloween, which also includes Michael Jackson’s Halloween, an animated special which premiered at Comic Con last week, and will have its official premiere on October 27 on CBS. read more

Scream album debuts at Number 9 in the UK

It’s Friday! Which means it’s chart time! and this week, Michael features not once, but twice on the UK top 100 albums.

Scream, the new collection of previously released material makes its official debut at Number 9 marking Michael’s 18th UK top 10 album release (this includes Greatest Hits packages from both Epic and Motown).

Elsewhere in Europe (whilst we await results), Scream did not fare so well, reaching 47 in Germany and 38 in Italy; two countries where all Michael releases, including Greatest Hits usually do a lot better. read more

Michael Jackson scored his final Number 1 this week in 1997 with Blood On The Dancefloor

It’s 19 years since the King of Pop landed his last Number 1 of his lifetime.

It’s still hard to believe that the iconic Michael Jackson passed away almost seven years ago. Thankfully, his music is still with us and he has even managed to maintain chart success with ‘new material’ – scoring a Number 1 album in 2014 with Xscape, a set of remixed offcuts from his glory days.

What’s almost as hard to believe is that it’s almost two decades since Michael was at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart. While he had no way of knowing it then, he would reach the top for the final time in his lifetime this week, 19 years ago, with one of his classics. read more
