Jason Derulo performed a tribute to Michael Jackson on the series premiere of “Greatest Hits” on Thursday. Watch below!

The new ABC series, hosted by Arsenio Hall and Kelsea Ballerini, will air over six weeks this summer. Each episode is designed to focus around the “greatest hits” of a given time period. For the first episode, that was 1980 to 1985.

In celebration of those years, Kenny Loggins performed “Footloose,” while Rick Springfield did “Jessie’s Girl.” Ray Parker, Jr. had an entertaining performance of the Ghostbusters theme, and Kool & the Gang had the crowd going with “Celebration.” Pitbull also teamed up with REO Speedwagon for “Messin’ Around.”

Then there was Derulo. The singer took on Jackson’s 1983 hit, “Human Nature.” The track was the fifth single from the music legend’s now-iconic 1982 album, Thriller. Back in the day, the song reached number seven on the Billboard Hot 100.

It’s since been covered by countless stars, from Boyz II Men and the cast of “Glee” to Justin Timberlake and Chris Brown. Now Derulo had a chance to put his own spin on it… literally. The “So You Think You Can Dance” judge broke out some serious moves as he performed the ballad.

And yes, that included doing the moon walk. Derulo teased on Instagram Wednesday, “Had the dopest time honoring the late, great, #KingOfPop my biggest inspiration catch it tomorrow night at 9/8c on @greatesthitsabc #MJ #humannature.” And though the performance was taped some time ago, its broadcast comes just days after the seventh anniversary of Jackson’s death.
