20 unreleased songs in Michael Prince’s PC!

Michael Durham Prince, sound engineer for Michael Jackson confirmed in the French Press today that over 20 unreleased and unheard Michael Jackson songs are in his PC.

He also said that they might be the object of the next album. Michael told “Le Parisien” that the songs are not finished and that he is not allowed to tell the titles or to listen to them … for now! He revealed “There is a lot of work to do! Michael did not sing the Chorus on the demos so we need to find someone to sing them! They will be duos” – He added: “We are planning more albums but for now we want to reveal new songs every six months; that’s an idea!”

Under the agreement, Sony can bring out up to seven albums over a decade, including new or remixed Michael Jackson songs. Two posthumous albums have already been released, in 2010 and 2014, but Sony told AFP on Thursday that no others were currently in the works.

Prince, who was Jackson’s audio engineer from 1995 up to his death, told Le Parisien in an interview from Germany: “I have on my computer 20 unreleased (songs) by Michael, all of them unfinished”.

He explained that Jackson hadn’t sung the choruses for the tracks, so “someone would have to be found” to perform them whenever they did get released, if Sony and Jackson’s family gave the go-ahead. “That would mean duets,” he said.

Prince added that he believed there would be further Michael Jackson albums in the future, “but for the moment, we are thinking more about bringing out new songs every six months”.

Well, that is a great news and we are sure the fans are looking forward to this new project and we cannot wait to hear those 20 unfinished songs. Can we see something coming before the end of 2015? One can hope!

  1. My opinion and wishes towards next MJ albums:

In my opinion a “Michael Jackson album; a new album of the King of Pop!” should at least have a span of 2 years to work on it and produce it. And then the best producers should produce songs (not one producer a hole album!), who also know Michael and his style (or are at least huge fans to know in which way it should go), just like Neff-U, Teddy Riley, Rodney Jerkins, “Babyface”, … Maybe Pharrell Williams is allowed to produce one song on an album or maybe even The Jacksons come together to produce one song for him. But hey should keep the Michael Jackson sound.
It’s something really important because he was and is the greatest of all time so the album has to be very great! Because: “If it can’t be great, if it can’t be groundbreaking, then we shouldn’t do it!” (Michael Jackson to LA Reid)
So we need great producers with great ideas (you have to remind that MJ-Fans have a very high standard) who should make a little challenging work to find the best ideas (MJ did that often) and produce many demos before collecting ideas and then finally produce it. And at the end the really best ~8 songs of 20+ completely produced songs are selected.
important is also the diversity: Xscape only consists of hip-hop, dance songs! there is not one ballade!
All in one you can say, for a postumous Michael Jackson album is important:
best available producers who fir into MJ-style
    a long challenging producing time
to finally pick the best songs
to make the album as great as it gets
    😀 🙂
